The installation consists of an old telephone on a pedestal and, above it on the wall, a screen showing a video. In the video, the same telephone lies on an asphalt surface, accompanied by a text urging visitors to pick up the receiver and speak.
Once someone does, the scene changes: in the video, I take the receiver and respond. Through the real receiver, visitors now hear my voice inviting them to a “Call to Climate Action.” The message recalls the urgency of the climate crisis, encourages sustainable action, and directly calls on listeners to express their own thoughts and feelings.
Meanwhile, in the video, speech bubbles with slogans from climate communication appear and transform through animation into images of ecological solutions. Visitors’ voices and sounds additionally generate rhythmic waves of color that circle the small planet – at once a reminder of global warming and a vision of a hopeful future.
The work invites an open dialogue on climate change and makes tangible how individual voices can become part of a shared vision for transformation.
