Breathearth

“Breathearth” – eine interaktive Installation von Maria Korporal. Ein Videobild zeigt eine erste Ansicht einer trostlosen Landschaft, trocken und unfruchtbar. Die Zuschauer sind eingeladen, in einem kleinen Erdkugel zu atmen, in dem ein Mikrofon verborgen ist. Mit jedem Atemzug, Gras, Blätter und Blüten erscheinen in der Landschaft, bis sie die ganze Erde mit Farben und Leben ist bedeckt. Wenn die Atmung stoppt, nach kurzer Zeit verschwindet die Vegetation und verwandelt sich die Landschaft wieder unfruchtbar: die Erde braucht unseren Atem um lebend zu bleiben! Third Eye Washing

„Third Eye Washing“, an interactive, site-specific work by Maria Korporal, created as part of the group exhibition AUSGEWASCHEN / WASHED OUT, 05.06.2015 – 17.07.2015, gallery Group Global 3000, Berlin – see website. The real-time shootings of the webcam (the artist’s „third eye“) turn around and around in the washing machine. Thus, the exhibited works and the visitors of the exhibition are „washed out“. The first project by Zweiart, „Interface“, was presented in 2006 in the historical Roman gallery Al Ferro di Cavallo. The installation consists of a number of huge paper masks built by Marina Buening hanging from the ceiling. On these masks two different sets of images realised by Maria Korporal are projected in sequences: one of them comes from a video projector, the other one from a slide projector. They show images of nets – elaborated by means of computer animation techniques – moving continuously, while playing with the organic forms of the masks. The choice for a net did not •••>
